Date: September 25th, 2024
Time: 5:00 PM (subject to change based on the program)
Location: Edmonton Convention Centre
Registration Fee: 15 USD

This event will bring together leaders, researchers, and professionals from various backgrounds to foster new ideas and collaborations. It is targeted primarily at young researchers, and aims to provide some guidelines for writing impactful papers with a talk given by Dr. Cathy Wu and to open a discussion on peer review processes within the IEEE ITS society. In this event, we propose a panel discussion consisting of the program chair of ITSC2024, the EiC of IEEE Transactions on ITS, the representative of ITS Young Professionals, and other academic experts to provide information on peer review activities of the current ITS conference and to address some current issues such as the use of AI in the writing and review process and the distribution of review workload among volunteers. This event includes:

i. Panel: The Review Process in the IEEE ITS Community

– Brief introduction by ITSC2024 program chair (summary of key aspects of the ITSC2024 review process, such as number of papers submitted, number of revisions, average number of revisions per article, number of AEs, etc.)
– Cathy Wu, talk on paper writing.
 – Panel: Jonas Mårtensson, Cathy Wu, Simona Sacone, Catherine Elias/Stephany Berrio Perez.
– Brief presentation of the young reviewer program by Catherine/Stephany.

ii. The social and networking event (needs registration)

Following the panel, we invite you to a networking aperitif at a local restaurant, offering a relaxed environment to connect with fellow innovators and discuss the future of transportation.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering movement towards a more inclusive and innovative transportation industry.
